Designated Marksman Scope

What NEW in optics.

Designated Marksman Scope

Postby snipersustainment on Mon Dec 24, 2007 3:58 pm

I bought a new Millett DMS-1 Tactical rifle scope. Millett calls it there Designated Marksman Scope. I had heard some good thinks about the scope so I though I would get one and try it out.

Closer view of the knobs. The numbers on the knob on the left are for the control of the illuminated Donut-Dot.

Here are a few more specs on the scope:

Power: 1x to 4x
Objective lens: 24mm (30mm tube)
Length overall Inches: 11.8"
Windage and Elevation adjustment: 1/2 moa
Range of adjustment: 90 moa
Reticle: Illuminated Donut Dot
Price:$229.95

Also the Windage cap holds an extra battery for the Illluminator. That way you have an extra battery at hand in case you need it.

This is a great CQB scope for the price. I shoot a lot of 3-gun matches, carbine matches and also do a lot of carbine training. I think this scope will work well for what I will be using it for.

Pete is it a true 1x so it could be used like a dot sight for CQB?

Yes it is. At 1X it works well at 10 yards and in. If it is low light you then can turn on the dot and adjust how bright you want it. I have been use the scope quite a bit. It is currently on one of my carbines and I have been using it to shoot carbine matches. There will be a BIG carbine match that will be put on by our club in FEB 08 and I plan to shoot the match with this scope. It is a pretty good scope for the price. 8)

Thanks Pete. That looks like a pretty interesting option. Let us know how it works out over the long run.

It tracks pretty good. The adjustments are 1/2 moa and when I zeroed it tracked pretty good.

Pete you think it will hold up on a 375 H&H Ruger #1? A friend of mine just got one and was looking for a scope and I thought this would work well if it could hold up to the recoil.

I have used it out to 300m with no problems. It should do alright.

Rob, I am not sure if it would hold up to the recoil of the 375 H&H.
