I am shooting a ssg-04-k steyr and was wondering if anyone out there is also using this weapon. New rifle, will soon be doing a range card w/ this weapon.

I hear they are pretty good rifles, but I myself have never shot one.

I've shot my friends SSG 69, and it's a really nice shooter.

He has to get the barrel replaced because of mega numbers of rounds through it and the accuracy has dropped to 1 1/2" @ 100yds.

Here's where the problem is - the barrel is press fit into the receiver and it will have to go back to Germany.

Yes I have heard that it would need to be sent back to germany for the fix. But I also heard that it would take a hell of alot of rounds down range before that occured . I am guessing pehaps 50,000, I dont know I am guessing here.
